Originally focused on the Rough Collie as "my breed", I started to take an interest in other breeds as well during the 70ies since good photos of typical specimen in natural surroundings were rare in Germany. I was fascinated by the various breeds and wished to meet them in their original habitat at their traditional jobs. The information and photo material I was able to gather formed the basis of my large photo archives and writing career.

During the last 30 years I have been writing regularly on freelance basis for the leading German dog magazines as well as the Japanese Aiken no Tomo. 1985 to 1993 I was editor of the magazine "Hundewelt" and since 1996 I have been special editor for dog breeds with the "Deutsche Hundemagazin".

1977 I started publishing my own magazine Collie Revue and 1997 Beardie Revue.
