1976 I wrote my first book for KOSMOS editors "Britische Hütehunde" (British sheepdogs) which was also the beginning of my dog photography career. I extended my activities to other breeds and took a special interest in breeds that I was still able to meet in their natural habitat at their traditional work.

With the book "KOSMOS Hundeführer" (Dog breed guide) I was able to fulfil my dream in creating a book on dog breeds which not only described their looks but also their origin and behaviour. It turned out to be a bestseller over the last 25 years. First published in 1990 it was totally revised in text and photos with many additional breeds in its 4th edition which already had to be reprinted in 2004. The "Hundeführer" was published in many European countries and Japan where it also was a bestseller. Licences have been sold to Russia and China and I am looking forward to these issues in 2005.

More books followed which were also published internationally. I found my children book on dogs in Korean language special fun.
